A climate science program created by the Interior Department’s Fish and Wildlife Service lacks key taxpayer protections, leaving it ripe for favoritism and misspending, an internal investigation has found.

  1. Corruption and favoring cronies in a Federal department? That’s a dog-bites-man story. In the late ’90’s I had hard quotes for the installation of a wastewater pipeline. Some bright boy decided we could get “free” government money and the cost suddenly jumped from $500k to $2 million. When I complained about the unneccessary increase, the consultant they hired asked me what I was worried about, after all, it wasn’t my money it was free federal money. Not much has changed except the names of administrators.
