Corruption and favoring cronies in a Federal department? That’s a dog-bites-man story. In the late ’90’s I had hard quotes for the installation of a wastewater pipeline. Some bright boy decided we could get “free” government money and the cost suddenly jumped from $500k to $2 million. When I complained about the unneccessary increase, the consultant they hired asked me what I was worried about, after all, it wasn’t my money it was free federal money. Not much has changed except the names of administrators.
