I wish they would stop doing studies and start making real advances
The trap which occurs when science is bent to support a priori political correctness.
Meta-analysis can have value but the conditions and pre-assumptions used have to be carefully accounted for. When authors attempt to cast a wide net and use large numbers of questionable studies then conclusions are virtually meaningless.
I feel that for epidemiological studies MA is useful to suggest further controlled studies not to make final conclusions.
This reinforces the results of the Ioannidis study from a few years ago. https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/1/1c/Ioannidis_%282005%29_Why_Most_Published_Research_Findings_Are_False..pdf
There just aren’t many researchers doing real research these days. There are, however, a lot of phonies pretending to do research just to get a paycheck.
