UK Met Office declines to blame floods on global warming

But it really wants to

From the WaPo:

But the poor press officer couldn’t just leave it there. No, she had to punctuate it with political correctness.

  1. Could it be that if and when global warming occurs, it is caused by the strengthening of our linkage to Hell? And could it be that the hiatus is indicative of a decoupling of the linkage? Could it be that somebody sometime back there in the waning days of the twentieth century were good little boys and girls, do you reckin? It was all the relief of the worry that lead up to Y2K that did it, I’ll betcha.

  2. If we truly ‘understood’ weather systems, the Met Office could be reduced to an app for a smartphone.
The fact is, we don’t understand weather systems well enough to forecast more than a handful of days in advance with any reliability.
