Why Japan joined Obama in limiting coal finance

Follow the money.

Japan recently joined Obama in limiting financing for “supercritical” coal-fired power plans.

Why?

Because, as the AP reports today, Japan wants to sell “ultra-supercritical” coal-fired technology instead.

Ultra-supercritical coal plants cost about 10% more to build and run than supercritical plants (that’s real money) and reduce CO2 emissions by about 10% (a fake benefit).

Once again, follow the money.
