Top Indian climate negotiator: India needs to burn more coal

Now Adjunct Professor at the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy, at the National University of Singapore, Sethi argues that the world’s wealthiest nations are the ones that must reduce their consumption of fossil fuels and lower greenhouse-gas emissions.

But, he tells The Global Mail in the above video interview, the poorest nations – India included – will first need to increase energy use to stimulate development and achieve the economic gains they need to make, to be in a position to move to renewables and help the world combat climate change.

  1. does this idiot realize that his country is pretty much totally dependent on food produced by those greedy Westerners and all that energy they use? If the USA gives up fossil fuels, you had better be ready to give up eating.
