Arizona State Sen. Kelli Ward writes at Politx:
It is time to stop the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) assault on Arizona that does little more than put at risk our water, our energy and our economic future.
The EPA’s latest target is the Navajo Generating Station, which was authorized by Congress as part of a power project that was subject to decades of open and public debate.
At issue is the agency’s regional haze plan aimed at improving visibility at the Grand Canyon. We can all agree that the Grand Canyon is a national treasure that should be protected. But the EPA is putting at risk thousands of skilled jobs and tens of billions of dollars of economic activity, for a rule that will deliver no perceptible visibility improvement at the Canyon, according to a study conducted by the U.S. Department of Energy.
Isn’t it Obama that’s out of control?
