Marsha Blackburn, a Republican congresswoman from Tennessee, was not embarrassed that the Obama-affiliated group Organizing for America had sent her one of its sarcastic “Congressional Climate Denier Awards” this week (“For exceptional extremism in ignoring the overwhelming judgement of science”). Because, as she posted on Twitter today:
You folks really shouldn’t be putting Mr. Gore down. He has made himself fantastically rich with his environmental endeavors and the true believers don’t seem to mind being conned.
Actually, black shirts are more appropriate.
So do I!
I like this woman!
We should always use the correct name for these storm troopers who are feverishly working to surpress dissent. It’s Organizing for Obama, paid and directed by Obama. If Obama had a sense of history, he would have his goons dress in brown shirts with armbands emblazoned with the Obama logo whenever they appear on MSNBC or outside a Republican’s office. Funding for OfO comes from shaking down corporations with threats of contract cancellations and boycotts plus hints of OSHA, IRS, SEC, EPA audits.
The OFA sure knows how to gain notoriety!
So that’s
howWHY Al Gore and Barack Obama got Nobel Prizes. So that’s how Al Gore and Barack Obama got Nobel Prizes.
Aesop’s Fables
Translated by George Fyler Townsend
The Mischievous Dog
A DOG used to run up quietly to the heels of everyone he met, and to bite them without notice. His master suspended a bell about his neck so that the Dog might give notice of his presence wherever he went. Thinking it a mark of distinction, the Dog grew proud of his bell and went tinkling it all over the marketplace. One day an old hound said to him: Why do you make such an exhibition of yourself? That bell that you carry is not, believe me, any order of merit, but on the contrary a mark of disgrace, a public notice to all men to avoid you as an ill mannered dog.”
Notoriety is often mistaken for fame.
Al Gore effect?
