This is a ridiculous report that is probably intended to validate Michelle Obama’s “Let’s Move” nannying.
The CDC reported today:
The prevalence of obesity declined slightly among low-income preschoolers in 19 of 43 states and territories during 2008–2011.
Click for the study. Check out Table 2. There are no meaningful trends.
On a subject like obesity, four points do not a trend make, or so I would say. And the 2008-2011 values differed by a very small amount — the largest I saw was 0.7%. It’s also significant that the study was among low-income children and is not ethnically representative of US children in the age cohort.
