Murkowski: FERC cedes power to EPA on electricity reliability

Environment and Energy Daily reports:

The top Republican on the Energy and Natural Resources Committee says a draft white paper that staff at the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission released this month shows the U.S. EPA doesn’t have to take advice from electric reliability professionals when implementing new air pollution rules.

Alaska Sen. Lisa Murkowski says federal law needs to be reformed to better protect electric reliability as the new rules take effect…

  1. Either reform the law or abolish FERC. If the electrical regulatory commission is powerless to regulate electricity, then why have them?
