Obama SOTU: Clean energy on public lands

His green buddies may have something to say about that.

Obama said in his State of the Union address:

But there’s no reason why Congress shouldn’t at least set a clean energy standard that creates a market for innovation. So far, you haven’t acted. Well tonight, I will. I’m directing my Administration to allow the development of clean energy on enough public land to power three million homes.

  1. Given the 20% availability of most “clean energy” projects, does this mean 3 million homes when it all runs? Or maybe 3 million at a typical availability.

  2. It probably means that Obama-favored “clean” energy projects won’t be saddled with the same environmental roadblocks that their competitors are. Yes, government is in the business of “picking winners” again.
