If Latinos are going to sweat exposure to mercury, should they worry about air pollution or face cream from Mexico?
The National Latino Coalition on Climate Change and other enviro groups issued a report yesterday that attempts to scare the Latino community about mercury and other “toxics” in ambient air.
In contrast to that bogus concern, however, the state of Texas recently reported about face cream from Mexico containing 56,000 to 131,000 times more mercury than permitted by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. The poisoned face cream has resulted in actual hospitalizations.
A real Latino mercury problem is when Pancho’s lowered, taco’d out Mercury won’t start.
