Sen. Whitehouse blames extreme weather on global warming

Which insurer, we wonder?

The Providence Journal reports:

Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse, D-RI, and Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-VT, joined an environmental group and an insurance organzation in warning Thursday that global warming is causing costly weather-related disasters.

“Extreme weather events, like Rhode Island’s historic floods in 2010, can result in the loss of homes, livelihoods, and even lives,” Whitehouse said. “These extreme events fit a pattern predicted by climate scientists, and we should take action now to minimize the damage that carbon pollution is causing to our country and our world.”

  1. Soon to be built courtesy of American taxpayers – The Sheldon Whitehouse Reinsurance Office Park (using green technology….but of course).

  2. “These extreme events fit a pattern predicted by climate scientists.”

That’s climate change scientists. Scientists aren’t teleological.

Since the pattern is that all weather events (or even earthquakes) are
attributable to global warming, of course these “extreme” events fit the
    pattern.
