Gore: Fighting skeptics like fighting racism

Not wanting to be outdone by James Hansen in this week’s climate lunacy contest and apparently envious of Martin Luther King’s new monument on the Washington DC mall, Al Gore likened the battle against climate skeptics to the civil rights struggle against racism:

  1. Does anybody remember how Sen. Al Gore (Sr.) voted on the Civil Rights Act of 1964?
    He voted *against* it.
Apparently the compulsion to support doomed causes is a family trait.

  2. As a member of the Black community, I am deeply offended by this and demand a full apology from Mr. Gore. Dr. King gave his life to ensure the freedom of people to make their own decisions and live their own lives.

On the other hand, Mr Gore is promoting complete trust in authority and demonizing healthly skepticism. Instead he promotes blind following of brainwashed propaganda. He also promotes the removal of freedoms so basic that we don’t even have them listed: the freedom to travel as we chose, the freedom to purchase what we chose, the freedom to have children when we wish. Dr King would WEEP if he saw this comparison.

  3. In response to commenter “gene” above, we are not dead yet. Scroll down to the bottom of this page, to the “Cook’s Tour of PBS and Climate Change” headline: http://www.pbs.org/ombudsman/2011/08/the_mailbag_on_puppets_and_pols_1.html

Nutshell explanation: A PBS viewer asks about my American Thinker article which voiced my complaints about the continuing lack of skeptic scientists appearing on the NewsHour. Near the end, Ombudsman Getler says: “Ironically, this would seem to be an excellent time for an in-depth revisiting of this issue…”

I doubt this will actually happen, but imagine if the larger public discovers there has been bunches of legitimate skeptics for two decades, and nobody can prove they are corrupt……

  4. At 39:25 Gore says that the nature of exponential growth curves is that the doubling times get shorter and shorter.
Wow. That’s a good measure of how totally ignorant he is.

  5. Fighting Gore and his Global Warming Minions is like fighting a giant Uncle Remus like tar-baby…
