AAAS chief admits scientists have destroyed the credibility of science

Below is a fundraising email just received from Rush Holt, president of the Americans Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS). As Holt notes (see highlighted section), scientists are so untrustworthy that, well, no one trusts them. JunkScience.com has been pointing out this untrustworthiness for 23 years. Unfortunately, Holt believes the way to repair the reputation of science is to enrich the AAAS so it can lobby Congress for more money for its members. Organized science has become little more than organized crime, where the science mafia steals from taxpayers to fulfill a variety of anti-science, anti-American and immoral agendas. Eisenhower warned of this problem in 1961. The only way to fix it is to get government out of science.

An ocean of inconvenient truth

The estimated increase in ocean heat content during 1990-2015 is the same as that between 1921–1946, according to a study in the PNAS. Change in atmospheric CO2 was ~70 ppm (1990-2015) vs. ~10 ppm (1921-1946).

Glider Trucks Caught in Deep State Double Standard

When the Obama EPA issued its rule to kill the glider truck industry in 2016, the White House Office of Management and Budget (OMB) approved the rule even though the Obama EPA failed to do the required benefit-cost analysis required by Executive Order No. 12866.

But when the Trump EPA sent the final rollback of the Obama rule to OMB earlier this year, the rule was rejected by OMB because no benefit-cost analysis for the rollback was included — no doubt the result of sabotage by EPA’s resistance bureaucrats and Volvo Trucks lobbying of OMB. That’s how the Deep State rolls. Former OMB-er Rick Belzer explained at yesterday’s House hearing on the glider controversy.

Memo to Obama: You didn’t think of that

Last week, former President Obama reprised a theme from his 2012 campaign in an attack on President Trump. Misappropriating credit for the booming economy, Obama stated, “Let’s just remember when this recovery started.” This, of course, echoes what Obama said at a campaign rally on July 13, 2012, when he attacked individualism and capitalism by raving, “If you’ve got a business — you didn’t build that.” Here’s a possible origin of that bogus collectivist attack that was somehow handed down to Obama.

New-Truck Emissions Scandal: Cummins recalls 500,000 trucks for faulty NOx emissions control

So now we know why Cummins-engine-using Volvo Trucks and the EPA Deep Staters (DEEPA?) in its Michigan emissions lab didn’t want to test Cummins engines against glider engines.

Milloy & Dunn testimony to EPA on science transparency

This afternoon, I delivered the following remarks on EPA’s proposed science transparency rule at the public hearing. I commented on behalf of myself and Dr. John Dunn. We are trying to open the black box.

On the need to restrain scientists

In his 1905 veto of what would have been the first and eugenics-aimed compulsory sterilization law in the U.S., Pennsylvania Gov. Samuel Pennypacker stated:

Scientists, like all other men whose experiences have been limited to one pursuit, and whose minds have been developed in a particular direction, sometimes need to be restrained. Men of high scientific attainments are prone, in their love for technique, to lose sight of broad principles outside of their domain of thought.
