  1. Everyone everywhere through the ages has had opinions about the weather. My grandmother explained a long drought in East Texas blaming it on atom bomb testing in New Mexico.

We know of many earlier cultures blaming drought on the anger of the Rain Gods at misbehaving humans. I see a parallel with today’s powers-that-be ready to sacrifice submissive inferiors to save the world.

Guess what? They were both right. Atom bomb testing ended and lo and behold so did the drought. Ditto for the high priests ripping out hearts and throwing the bodies down pyramid stairs. The rains came.

  2. Oddly, w/ all the global warming going on, I am wondering why the past few Summers have been so pleasantly not so broiling here in Upstate NY. They aren’t all that hot, as the global warming freaks scream about — as if we were all broiling to death, or soon will be. I remember being much hotter in Summers several years ago (1969-73). Back then, there was a global ‘cooling’ thing going on. But that didn’t work. So the global warming religion arrives just in time for a generation that could only be regarded as ‘true believers’….it sure doesn’t seem too hot, especially when you consider the mid 60’s…w/out so much air conditioning. Eric Hoffer wrote about ‘true believers’ in a different context. But what he wrote about most assuredly pertains to the gullible parrots hyping the planet broiling nonsense now.
