No… Japan’s July 2018 heat wave NOT caused by CO2

Like shooting’ fish in a barrel.

I ran across the article (spotlighted above) here.

A few Google searches later I came across this study (Web | PDF):

This report contains the following graph:

As you can see, July 1978 was warmer than July 2018, according to the Japan Meteorological Agency.

Atmospheric CO2 in 1978 was on the order of 334 ppm. In July 2018, atmospheric CO2 was about 80 ppm higher.

So: how can CO2 be blamed for the terrible heat in Japan in July 2018 when it was hotter in Japan in July 1978 when CO2 was much lower?
