Meanwhile, Indonesia has 4x the carbon emission of the United States as it burns rain forests to make room for more palm oil plantations so rich European countries can meet their renewable fuel standards and California can have low carbon diesel. Additionally, California will be buy sugarcane based ethanol from Brazil (probably grown in what used to be rain forests) and Brazil will buy corn based ethanol from the US to satisfy their domestic needs.
