My experience in other areas of science is that researchers get a pile of data and some formulae to work with (or models with certain assumptions) and they don’t look back or around.
THEY ARE SLAVES TO THEIR OWN NUMBER SETS/THEORIES/HYPOTHESIS/ASSUMPTIONS. That’s not good science–ask Richard Feynman who said a good scientists is his own most severe critic and skeptic.
