There is a wonderful essay on the precautionary principle by Frank Furedi, a social sciences expert form UK, that I distribute whenever I can, so here’s my chance. His point is that fear and anxiety have a lot to do with loss of confidence and fortitude. The inability of so many to face the uncertainties of life with confidence.
Fortuna is the latin word he thinks is the key to the change–we no longer look to our ability to overcome adversity, and bring on Fortuna. Fortuna comes to the well prepared–eh?
