George Neumayr articulates his disagreement on the brain dead argument.
Some religions such as Judaism and some members of other religions are uncomfortable with the brain death concept.
Mr. Neumayr exemplifies that position.

The fact that the members of the media reporting these things keep aluding to a lack of brain activity seems to me to be so much air being pushed through a set of vocal cords.
It also seems to demonstrate that the media itself has a lack of discernable brain activity.
Murder is so much less uncomfortable if you can convince yourself that your victim is somehow not a living human being.
As always, the first step to power in a democracy is convincing the population that something is their problem. That’s why the try so hard to convince us that we’re all paying for everyone else’s healthcare. Otherwise, what difference would it make if someone with the money kept a dead body warm for 25 years. The biggest obstacle to progressive statism is the attitude that something is none of my business.
The idea of Living Wills, where a person can elect ahead of time to avoid extreme life-support measures, make perfect sense. It is a person’s own choice. More freedom.
However, like all things Progressive, the state (or whoever has Progressive power) can now override your or your family’s wishes and declare you to be dead – whether you are or not. Less freedom.
