Love that Goddard, he goes back into the files to document the cooling panic of the 70s.
Recent revisionist history claims they never said no such thing. Sho nuff panicmongers.

I grew up in the 1950s-60s. I recall the Ice Age panic mongers. One statement was, “all it takes is for the snows from one winter to not (completely) melt, setting the stage for an Ice Age to start.” This was based on the theory, that the remaining snow would reflect so much sun energy back into space that we’d “never” warm up again…
No matter how many times they actually said it, Climatites still have the hubris to claim “They never said it”.
I remember the ’70s here in the US Midwest. The cold was bitter, intense, and lingering. Everything and everyone suffered. If you looked into the wind the moisture on your eyeballs would frost over and eyesight would go fuzzy. The cold was deadly, and the threat of global cooling was, indeed, frightening.
As it still should be.
