NO… there is no evidence that young people are ‘especially vulnerable’ to ultraviolet (UV) radiation

Local 2 (Canada) reports:

This week, the provincial NDP played political games with important legislation aimed to prevent skin cancer among young people, said Sault MPP David Orazietti.

In March, the Ontario government took action to help prevent skin cancer among young people by introducing Bill 30, the Skin Cancer Prevention Act which would restrict those under 18, who are especially vulnerable to the harmful effects of ultraviolet (UV) radiation, from using tanning beds.

“We have a responsibility to help protect young people and the sooner this legislation becomes law, the more lives we can save from skin cancer,” said Orazietti. “Despite claiming the legislation was not moving fast enough, the NDP made the irresponsible decision to reverse their position and not support a third reading vote.”
