Barbara Boxer gives environmental award to George W. Bush Prez library — Is this how desperate elites are for attention?

OAONline reports:

U.S. Sen. Barbara Boxer has visited the George W. Presidential Center in Dallas to present an award for the environmentally friendly design of the building and grounds.

Boxer presented the award to former first lady Laura Bush on Monday afternoon. Bush, who led the design committee for the center, then took Boxer on a tour of some of the green design aspects.

Boxer, a Democrat from California, recently announced the establishment of the Climate Hero Award from the U.S. Senate Climate Change Clearinghouse. The first award is going to the Bush center and the William J. Clinton Presidential Center in Little Rock, Ark.

Both libraries have achieved the highest certification _ platinum _ from the U.S. Green Building Council’s Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design, or LEED, program.

  1. What did they do? Put some plants around the place?
What do they mean by “green design aspects”?
