The Canberra Times reports:
Greens leader Christine Milne has accused Prime Minister Kevin Rudd of being a “fake on climate” after the federal government confirmed it would dump the controversial fixed price on carbon.
The move – which will come at a considerable blow to the budget’s bottom line – will see the government scrap the initial fixed price phase and bring forward the start date of the emissions trading scheme to July 1 next year.Senator Milne said the decision was “cowardly” and failed to realise that “we are living in a climate emergency”.

“It’s all about politics not policy,” Senator Milne told ABC television on Sunday morning.“Kevin Rudd is a fake on climate.”
The watermelons over egged their description of Krudd by adding “on climate change”. Krudd is nothing but a fake.
If the carbon tax is morphing into emissions cap and trade, as Streetcred foresees, that may be even worse. A fake trade in a nonexistent and worthless commodity (it’s hard to be both but carbon trading can do amazing things) is probably worse than a straightforward (if stupid) tax.

Funny though how 5 years ago according to KRudd Global Warming (TM) was the greatest moral threat ever faced by mankind … now that its politically ‘on the nose’ and Australians, other than the pigs at the trough, have seen through the greatest moral con of our times, he’s trying to divert attention away from the diabolical mess that he was the architect of.
KRudd hasn’t so much dumped the hated Carbon (dioxide) Tax as shifted to the ETS earlier than anticipated. The LiberalNational opposition will dump every aspect of the Carbon (dioxide) Tax. The ‘ruling’ Labor party is won’t to hide the pea in shifting its policies about … seems to be a common trait with these dishonest ‘progressives’ the world over.
I am a devout skeptic on the subject of AGW….
