It’s a tradition dating back to the 1940s — bonfires on the beaches of southern California. But state officials say the popular pastime is no longer acceptable because of global warming and negative health consequences.

  1. All policies based on climate or warming are wrong on their face.
    People might experience health problems if they sit in the smoke and breathe it steadily, I guess. I know that occasionally people do something dumb and get burned at these fire bits. Why should responsible people have to give up such an enjoyable event?
    This is nanny-bullyism and should be stopped.
