I’m surprised that they didn’t make the claim that the 5-year average has generally been above average since the mid-1930’s. At least according to the graph. I really got a chuckle out of the first comment which said that the graph cut off highs of 25°C, so it couldn’t be right.
Peak 5-year averages reaching a bit more than 16.5°C and someone saying they missed 25°C, which was a sure sign of global warming. Poor baby’s, I’d be wearing something warmer than shorts and a tee shirt. I suppose it is a matter of location and perspective. It’s currently about 21° in Richmond and expected to go to 32° C or so. Neither unexpected, unusual nor particularly high compared to other parts of the country.
