Everyone knows that the present caused the past.
From an interview with Huffington Post:
“This was really the result of Republican behavior,” Kennedy told HuffPost Live host Marc Lamont Hill, citing Republican-led cutbacks that he said “overwhelmed” an IRS Cincinnati field office. “It’s the Republicans’ own fault because the Republicans cut the budget and did the sequester so that the Cincinnati office doesn’t have the personnel or the training [that it needs].”
I’d propose a little add-on to Heinlein’s Razor. “Never attribute to malice that which is adequately explained by stupidity, but don’t rule out both.” Oddly, that seems like something Lazarus Long would say too.
Your memory of Calley’s actions is false. Captain Medina ordered the killing.
The case of Lt Calley taught my generation that following orders is no excuse for doing wrong.
Your suggesting that the IRS people were “Folks were working hard” is hollow.
I remember Calley’s actions to be his own idea. And president Nixon treated him favorably.
I trust that you see putting some papers in the same pile differs from killing people.
Inbreeding is recommended more for livestock than people…
MT: that would be highly irregular as normally maliciousness requires some amount of intelligence. But we’ve known for generations that the Kennedys were special so I guess it could be so…..inbreeding does that, you know.
Based on RFKJr’s record, I’d say he’s both malicious and stupid.
“Snortsalot”
Hanlon’s Razor applies: “Never attribute to malice that which is adequately explained by stupidity.” RFK Jr is not malicious.
Getting back to junk science, remeber Katrina.
The same RFK Jr claimed Bush CAUSED the hurricane because he didn’t sign the Kyoto accords. The fact that the accords would not have been implemented until years after Katrina did not matter.
Bush did not sign a piece of paper and a hurricane happenned.
True Junk Science.
Remember the Lt. Calley thing, where he worked hard just doing what his bosses told him to do?
Clinton is that you?
Kennedy is lying, as usual. Applications for tax exempt status actually declined over prior years. Sequester happened after any of this.
The IRS is a cesspool, working for one side.
Good Grief! RFK Jr. is right about something.
In following a hearing yesterday, it became clear that Congressmen and Senators were pounding the IRS about 4c approvals for tea party groups. It would be reasonable to try to explicate and get uniformity in cases mentioned by elected legislators, especially when they control your appropriations. There is no there there at the IRS. Folks were working hard, and our President erred, as he often does, in throwing good people under the bus of hysteria. Remember the Professor Gates matter where he, as well as the good professor, made asses of themselves.
So yeah, the first question is how an action in 2013 affected policies in 2010-2012. The second question is, how mismanaged is our government if a very small reduction in the rate of growth can cause this kind of problem?
But then RFKJr continues in the legacy of his clan.
