They have ditched the Saffir-Simpson Hurricane Scale. A sub Cat 1, formerly called a “tropical storm,” is now classified as a “superstorm.” I’m curious what a former Cat 1 will be called. A “superduperstorm?”
Will a Cat 5 be a MEGASTORM (all caps required)?
NYU is a leading source of high sounding names, like the “Institute for Policy Integrity”. Signifies pretty much the opposite, as the above quote on Sandy shows.
