Good News: Sequester hits global warming research

Bad News: GOP Rep. Tom Cole (Okla. 4th) would like to see funding restored to his local institution.

The Kitsap Sun reports:

…But then came the sequester, the Congressional mandate that slashed federal budgets across the board.

The USGS took about a 5 percent cut, equivalent to about $55 million in lost funds. The Climate Science Centers will likewise lose around 5 percent of their overall funding, which totaled $25.2 million in fiscal year 2012.

  1. So maybe the Okie CSC will have 5% less to do nothing that matters with. I see that as win/win. The Okie Congresspimple is not so lucky, being a total loss.
