  1. It is believed that for most of the Holocene, Earth’s climate has been warmer than is the case today. The Sahara became a desert quickly about 5000 years ago. Would it not be ironic if global cooling caused the desertification of the Sahara, through a change in wind patterns, induced by cooling. Think about it: Global warming might be the friend of the Sahara.
