You are correct, he is not a climate skeptic. But remember, if you even suggest that there is nothing you can do to avert climate disaster you can be labeled a skeptic. If the public ever realizes that there actually is nothing that can be done to fight climate change, then the BC governments carbon tax plans go out the window. This guy was not toting the government line, so they fired him. Rightly so. This is politics remember, not truth.
Either I misred the article or this artilce is mis-titled. The Van Kooten character is NOT a climate skeptic. He seems merely to believe that a climate disaster is coming and there’s nothing we can do to stop it. Indeed, he seems to believe in a 5-8 degree inevitable coming disaster.
There also is some noise about what appears to be van Kooten’s religious beliefs (he APPEARS to be a Creationist), but that is irrelevant (ad hominem).
