  1. This seems fair enough. The part I read said nothing about storms being more common or severe, nor about rising sea levels or climate change.
    It’s true that, if more people live near the coast and especially within reach of extreme tides and storm surges, more people are going to lose property and potentially their lives, exactly as Our Host says. Since I doubt the trend will turn inland, coastal communities should be planning accordingly. As far as I can tell, the southeaster you are, the more planning you’d better do.
