Wheeler: Don’t blame global warming for warm weather

“Could Al Gore be right? Is our carbon footprint really be causing global warming?”

David Wheeler writes in the Winnipeg Sun:

…Truth is, no one has a crystal ball to predict what’s going to happen with our weather, the only thing we have to go on is current trends and data, which as we’ve learned hasn’t been all that long. My gut does tell me that we may be in store for a climate more consistent with a Kansas or Nebraska (which may bring more tornados) in the next decade.

For those environmentalists that are reaching a boiling point with this column, I do believe that we need to do a better job of finding a more renewable source of energy to power our lifestyles, but I don’t think it’s having the grandiose effect on our planet that some would have you believe.
