Mann or Myth: Part 5

“I was always very careful not to claim that our work could firmly establish a human role in the warming.”

From Tom Nelson, Michael Mann writes in his new book:

I was always very careful not to claim that our work could firmly establish a human role in the warming. To draw such a conclusion based on our work alone would necessarily buy into the classic logical fallacy of “correlation without causation.

  1. Mann is a lier, Paterno told the truth. Mann is exonerated, Paterno fired and taged with a soil reputation until he died! Shows the priorities of Penn State and other Lefties who now run our universities.

  2. Hmmm… at first I thought, maybe it’s possible that Mann actually had only proposed a correlation between CO2 and global temperature, and that others simply picked it up and ran with the ball. (After all, I’m a skeptic.) Not so. He puts the blame for ‘global warming’ directly on anthropogenic emissions.

    Here’s a paper authored by Mann: ‘Defining dangerous anthropogenic interference’, Proc Natl Acad Sci U S A. 2009 March 17; 106(11): 4065–4066, http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC2657409/

Here’s a Mann speech: http://scienceblogs.com/pharyngula/2011/12/michael_mann_explains_the_evid.php It’s 16 minutes long, but no patience is required. One of the first things he says is, “Human activity is warming the planet”, and then he goes directly into a discussion about CO2.

His claim that “I was always very careful not to claim that our work could firmly establish a human role in the warming” is utterly false.

Mann is such a liar that that he even lies about himself.
