The Brothers Cap-and-Tax are taking aim at efforts to rein in the out-of-control EPA.
According to Environment and Energy Daily, Rep. Henry Waxman (D-Calif.) said last week,
The new Republican majority seems intent on restoring the robber-baron era where there were no controls on pollution from power plants, oil refineries and factories.
But the efforts to rein in the EPA would not roll back or delay pre-Obama regulations to any meaningful extent (if at all); the Obama-era over-overkill is what’s being targeted. If by some chance EPA-reform efforts were to succeed, pre-Obama regulatory overkill would (unfortunately) still be in place.
Even the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers has taken exception to the Obama attack on power plants, claiming that the rules would cost 250,000 jobs over three years.
Also chiming in last week was Rep. Ed Markey (D-Mass.) who said that the Republican agenda was a rifle,
… pointed right at the heart of America’s clean energy future.
OK, so let’s pull the trigger and kill off taxpayer- and ratepayer-subsidized “clean energy” for good.
