The failure of a national cap-and-trade bill may not have entirely popped the green bubble, but that bubble is none the less deflating.
Consider that:
- New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie announced today that his state was pulling out of the Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative (RGGI), the regional cap-and-trade scheme formed by Northeast states several years ago.
- The San Francisco-based Apollo Alliance and the BlueGreen Alliance announced today that they would merge this summer.
- The climate activist groups 350.org and 1Sky announced in April that they would merge.
- General Electric CEO recently abandoned his green focus, admitting it was a mistake.
As Winston Churchill after the battle of El Alamein,
Now this is not the end. It is not even the beginning of the end. But it is, perhaps, the end of the beginning.
Bubble won’t be popped for good until the “philanthropies” underwriting the professional enviro-mental activists decide to direct their funding towards achieving actual, real & measurable results or sacre bleu, the re-discover donor intent.
