Obama postures about $4-gallon gas at a $35,800 per plate fundraiser

At a $35,800-per-plate Democratic fundraiser last night in California, President Obama slammed “climate change deniers” and postured about the high price of gas:

“Right now we’ve got $4-a-gallon gas, and most of the people under this tent don’t have to worry about that. But for the average person who has to drive 50 miles to work and can’t afford to buy the [$100,000] Tesla, it’s hammering them. It’s hurting them,” Obama said, according to a White House transcript that notes the Tesla comment drew laughter.

Obama also said,

“But I don’t think there’s any doubt that unless we are able to move forward in a serious way on clean energy that we’re putting our children and our grandchildren at risk.”

If he was really worried about “children and grandchildren,” then he be more concerned about the “average people” who are raising those kids.

  1. Euthanasia is about terminating life before its normal time – period. You can justify it anyway you want – just as abortion is – but that is the cold hard truth. So you are for euthanasia to save some bucks? just like how economical it is to abort babies?
You must be an accountant – they are the only people that try to put dollars and sense on life.

  2. Also you might argue about assisted suicides. Guess what! there good too because when a disabled person wants to die then how unfair is it that you don’t give them the opportunities normal people have.

  3. Euthanasia is not at all about money, it is about ending lives full of misery and suffering; where no possible good can come from leaving them alive

  4. Euthanasia makes sense on a purely monetary ground as well – do you support it? Sorry, I beleive in the sanctity of human life above all else.

  5. A good part of the reason that gas is expensive is that oil is expensive.

We pay for oil with the dollar and the govt has let the dollar become very darn near worthless.
Since the dollar buys less, everything(including oil) costs more.

Monetary policy that strengthens the dollar will go a long ways toward making everything less expensive.

  6. Why do you not like abortions then on a purely monetary ground. Try to limit the number of children you have to give them each of them the best future possible.

  7. i would love to use public transportation however where i live it doesn’t exist. upstate ny, near a medium city; get outside the city limits and NO bus service. i drive 32 miles each way to work’ can not find a job closer to where i live that pays a living wage. it’s not a matter of a cut in pay i’m talking about paying the mortgage, utility bills and grocery bill. we don’t eat out, go on vacations or movies. all the liberals and greens saying that higher gas prices will cause me to drive less have it wrong, all it will do will cause me to go on disibility[which i have refused to do even though i qualify because i believe if you can work you should] and then they will be paying for me. and don’t say move closer. not even brining up the housing market we moved to an area where we could afford the house and the taxes etc. that is real life and all these rich elitists should try it; not for a week or a month but afull year and then run their mouths.

  8. His policies are meant to abort the “children and grandchildren” before they are born, thus eliminating the problem. If average people cannot afford to drive to work, they certainly cannot afford to have children. But abortions will continue to be subsidized!
