JAMA fails to disclose study authors’ conflicts of interest; Passes off activist-written junk as ‘science’

Hey JAMA editor Howard Bauchner, that ringing in your empty head is your conscience calling.

This garbage study is debunked here.

Note that the authors claim no conflicts of interest.

But guess who the lead author Bruce Bekkar is affiliated with?

So Bekkar is on the board of something called the Climate Action Campaign. Sounds like a disclosable conflict of interest to me.

Then there is second author, Susan Pacheco, who is affilated with Al Gore’s Climate Reality Project.

Third listed author, Rupa Basu, was featured in the James Cameron and Arnold Schwarzenegger-funded climate bedwetting SHOWTIME series, “Years of Living Dangerously.”

Last but not least, fourth author Nathaniel DeNicola once gave a talk entitled, “Can Women Survive Climate Change.” ‘Nuff said.

However you slice it, these four characters do not add up to no conflict of interest.

I wrote to JAMA editor Howard Bauchner about this. But as before, he likely doesn’t care.
