Trump to cool planet by lifting logging restrictions in Alaska

The most IPCC ‘science’ indicates that President Trump’s move to allow logging in Alaska’s Tongass national Forest would reduce global warming.

Last August, the IPCC released a draft of this report (Web | PDF):

Chapter 2 of the report contains the following table (p. 2-62) showing the warming/cooling effects of reforestation and deforestation.

As the IPCC chart shows, Boreal (i.e., northern) deforestation has a cooling effect.

The reason for this is that deforestation increases surface albedo so that more solar radiation is reflected back into space vs. being absorbed by the Earth.

So logging the Tongass will have a cooling effect. Blocking logging will have a warming effect. I wonder where climate bedwetters will come down on this.
