Another false Nobel Prize claim from the University of Delaware

Below is the letter JunkScience.com sent to the University of Delaware’s General Counsel today.

September 9, 2016

Dear Ms. Ergin,

I am writing to inform you that the University of Delaware and/or Dr. John Byrne is once again falsely claiming that Dr. John Byrne is a Nobel Prize winner.

Dr. Byrne has neither won the Nobel Prize nor shared a Nobel Prize.

The new offending page and image (below) is: http://www.udel.edu/apply/undergraduate-admissions/major-finder/energy-environmental-policy/

While the International Panel on Climate Change as an organization did win the Nobel Prize, the hundreds of contributors and editors did not win, nor did they “share,” the award.

This IPCC memo (excerpted below) makes that clear:

Previous correspondence, including the University’s acknowledgement and correction of the problem, is below.

I look forward to your prompt reply.

Thank you,

  1. Even worse, the IPCC “shared” the Nobel prize with that highly skilled scientist, Al Gore.

Read the IPCC report that got the prize; it says if all their projections are correct (A BIG IF), sea levels will rise between 2 to 4 feet in a century. Al Gore said a 20 foot rise in the near future.

    Some “settled science”!
