Back in the 50’s and 60’s there was a glut of sci-fi movies based on radioactivity to provide the plot premise – everything from Japanese monsters to aliens visiting to warn us of the consequences of nuclear testing. Some were actually fairly good stories – others were hack fiction.
If I remember my grade school and high school years, most kids will read these climate morality tales until they get bored, then open up the Cliff Notes version just to pick up enough to satisfy the teacher.
