All deforestation causes a loss of CO2 fixing from the atmosphere, but pine-deforestation causes even more loss than other kinds of deforestation……
Here in NZL we have local and provincial councils spending millions trashing exotic pine trees which are not ‘politically correct’ while bemoaning the rise in atmospheric CO2 levels……….
So now the “pause” is caused by trees. Uh, what about all the deforestation claims? Over the last 20 years, have forests instead grown dramatically?
Additionally, [I am informed by a genuine expert] conifers are the most effective carbon-fixers on the planet……More pine trees, more solar radiation reflected, more CO2 taken out of the atmosphere.
