We live in the real world. It runs on fossil fuels, which necessarily produce CO2. It is not practical to capture and store the CO2. Fossil fuels are not going away anytime soon. That is the real world. The rest is just hot air.

If oil and gas companies really wanted to innovate they could take some of the billions of dollars in profits and buy wind and solar companies, and market them under their own corporate umbrella. They’re not. Because they’re not, one has to wonder (a) what is the validity of wind and solar for replacing fossil fuels and/or (b) how unlikely is the ROI for any such sourcing play to be profitable?
