Could it be they really know that CO2 does not do what they claim it does?

The carbon scam looked like a great idea for milking money out of the economy for the use of bureaucrats, until it could be seen to be harmful to the economy.
In reality, modern government can be indistinguishable from the old classic ‘protection racket’ – victims are intimidated by bullies with various threats and lured with faint promises of dubious benefits so that they will cough up money to the intimidators.
