50% of all land west of the Mississippi is government “owned”.
Why?
The lands in question are public lands, i.e. belonging to the public. As a private US citizen I am a member of the public. Can I allow drilling and extraction on my portion?

This just one reason that Sen. Jeff Sessions says makes this coming election the most important ever.
