Why the Green Climate Fund is destined to fail in slowing emissions and improving climate resilience.
ClimateChangeNews reports:
If you make more energy available to poor people, they will use more energy. Here, the Rwandans and Kenyans won’t stop using kerosene and diesel generators, they will just use them for other things — perfectly reasonable and rational behavior.
Then there’s this in Fiji:
While it’s great for Fiji that the UN is improving its water system, this won’t be reducing emissions either. While the improvements will help Fijians manage their water supply, this has nothing to do with “climate resilience.”
“More frequent cyclones”?
Here in the US we haven’t had a major cyclone (we call them ‘hurricanes’) in over 10 years.
