Note there are patches of ice in 2008 that are not in the 1920 photo. Also note the 2008 photo was taken at a warmer time of the year (compare the clothes of the hikers).
It’s there. Looks like it is covered with crusty springtime snow outlining a sharp dark linear rim. Camera angles are slightly different but not significantly so. Valley bottom is still slightly covered in snow. The 2008 photo is probably in late September with fresh snow dusting the higher horizontal rocks layers in the background. Note the lake is not frozen and the glacier looks like is has just finished its annual melt cycle.
There is a huge rock formation in the lower left portion of the picture in the 2008 photo that is obviously missing from the 1920 photo. Why?
