Global warming blamed for ‘toxic’ West Coast crabs

The detection fallacy rears its ugly head.

Of course, the MSM comes as close as it can to blaming global warming without being laughed at too hard:

Just because more algal bloom events are reported today than “decades ago,” doesn’t mean that they are occurring in greater frequency. Things often appear to be more frequent because we do a better job of noticing and counting them now as opposed to decades ago. Also, we could be in an upswing of a natural cycle. Only for the junk scientist is detecting more an “A-ha!” moment.

  1. Seems the warmer sea temps are not just causing tropical crabs coming to West Coast shores, there are some happy fishermen finding tropical game fish along the coast also. Now they don’t have to sail 2,000 miles to catch some good fish. The small sardines and anchovies have been missing, so the fish that look for them are also gone.
