Damn good read, and I always thought the French were only good atwine, food and surrender, I was wrong.
Nice résumé, but he does not seem to be a true mathematician. His schooling apparently was not sufficient to knock common sense out of him.
I have a gold standard to compare against. I once asked my own teacher, the purest of true mathematicians, to explain what his theory (Perfect Subrepresentations) was useful for. He gave me a long mean look followed by this statement: “Mathematics is abstract science. It must not allow itself to be corrupted by applications. Better if it didn’t have any”.
